This trek visits the UNESCO World Heritage valley, carpeted with hundreds of alpine flower species in monsoon bloom, and climbs to Hemkund Sahib — the sacred Sikh gurudwara beside a glacial lake at 15,200 ft.
Drive to Govindghat via Joshimath. Overnight.
Trek to Ghangaria, the base for both the valley and Hemkund.
Day trek into the blooming valley. Return to Ghangaria.
Steep climb to the sacred Hemkund Sahib gurudwara and glacial lake (15,200 ft). Return.
Descend and drive towards Joshimath/Rishikesh.
Return to Rishikesh.
