Why Sahayata exists.

Every year, thousands of senior pilgrims attempt Char Dham, Vaishno Devi, Tirupati, and other sacred journeys. Many turn back. Some never make it home.

The reason is rarely the climb itself. It is the absence of the small things — a kind hand at the airport, oxygen at altitude, accessible transport, someone to call the family at home. The Indian pilgrimage industry has neglected this for decades.

Sahayata is our small attempt to fix it. Built with the same reverence we bring to the dham itself.

What's Included

Five things every Sahayata trip gets.

A complete care package that travels with your parents from the moment they leave home until they're back. Add it to any yatra, retreat, or trek — at any level.

01

Trained Companion

A dedicated, trained Sahayata companion accompanies your parents throughout the journey — at the airport, in the vehicle, at the temple, at meals. Multilingual (Hindi, English, regional). Trained in basic first aid and elderly care. Female companions for female-only groups.

02

Medical Kit + Oxygen

BP monitor, oximeter, sugar testing kit, basic medication for AMS, headaches, blood pressure spikes, and altitude sickness. Portable oxygen cans on high-altitude routes (Char Dham, Adi Kailash, Hemkund). Pre-departure medical screening with our partner clinic.

03

Accessibility Logistics

We pre-book palki (palanquin) carriers, ponies, golf carts, and rope-way priority slots — before you arrive, not in panic at the base camp. Ground-floor rooms, walker access, washroom-equipped vehicles. The small things, planned in advance.

04

Daily Family Updates

Twice-a-day WhatsApp updates to a family group: location, well-being, photos. So you can send your parents on yatra with confidence, even from another city or country. Founder's number on standby for emergencies.

05

Emergency Evacuation Cover

All Sahayata trips include emergency evacuation insurance and pre-arranged contact with local hospitals along the route. We know which dispensary at Phata, which doctor at Ghangaria, which hospital in Pithoragarh. So you don't have to.

06

Pre-Departure Screening

A 30-minute medical assessment with our partner clinic in Dehradun (or virtual for NRIs) before booking. We confirm fitness for the planned altitude and pace, recommend modifications if needed, and rule out anyone who shouldn't be travelling — gently and honestly.

Common Scenarios

Who books Sahayata.

Here are some real situations where Sahayata makes a difference — names changed, scenarios real.

"My parents finally went, and came home well."

"My father is 74, with a pacemaker. My mother is 71, with knee issues. We'd been postponing Char Dham for 8 years, scared they wouldn't make it. With Sahayata Plus, they did all four dhams by helicopter, with palki at Yamunotri, oxygen at Kedarnath, and twice-daily updates to me in Dubai. Best money we've spent on family."

"Mama wanted to go alone. This made it possible."

"After my father passed, my mother wanted to do Vaishno Devi alone — as her sankalp to him. At 78, with diabetes. Sahayata Premium gave her a nurse-trained companion, wheelchair access, ground-floor stay at Katra. She did the darshan she wanted to do. I tracked her on GPS the whole way."

"Three generations, one trip."

"My grandparents (both 80+), parents (50s), and our kids (teens) — we wanted to do Adi Kailash together. Sahayata arranged a senior-friendly vehicle, oxygen support throughout, and ground-floor stays at every halt. The only operator I could find who took our grandparents seriously."

What makes Sahayata different.

Senior-friendly travel isn't about adding a "senior discount" to a brochure. It's about thinking through the journey from the perspective of someone who needs a hand. We are the only Indian pilgrimage operator who built this with intention — not as an afterthought.

01

Trained, not improvised

Our companions go through a 2-week training programme — first aid, AMS, elderly handling, religious sensitivity.

02

Vetted vendors

Every palki carrier, every pony operator, every dispensary — verified by us in person, not booked sight-unseen.

03

Family transparency

You know where your parents are, what they ate, how they slept. Real-time, not "they'll call when they reach."

04

Founder accountability

Every Sahayata booking carries the founder's personal phone number. The buck stops here, not at a call centre.

Send them on yatra with peace of mind.
