A spectacular winter trek to the frozen Brahmatal lake and a 12,250 ft summit, with grandstand views of Mt Trishul and Nanda Ghunti across the snow.
Brahmatal is the winter trek for those who've done Kedarkantha and want the next step.
Named for a high lake where Brahma is said to have meditated, the trail winds through oak and rhododendron forest to open snow ridges with some of the finest Trishul and Nanda Ghunti views in the Himalayas.
Drive to Lohajung base (about 10 hrs). Overnight.
Trek through forest to the Bekaltal lake. Camp.
Climb to the Brahmatal lake, frozen in winter. Camp with ridge views.
Summit day (12,250 ft) with Trishul/Nanda Ghunti panorama. Descend.
Trek down to Lohajung. Overnight.
Drive back to Dehradun.
